Do you journal?
I've found my renewed love
Recently on The Artist at Work pod we were talking about getting back into our practice of journaling in one way or another.
This is something I did for more than half of my life consistently – but with my adoption of the iPhone in say, oh 2007, it dropped off entirely. Goodbye went paper planners and nighttime journaling. Almost instantly and definitely without notice. It took me reflecting on this a few days ago to come to this realization 🤯
Technology changed my habits without me even noticing or truly consenting to the new behavior.
It just happened. I’m taking that back and I encourage you to join me.
I’ve started weaving this new journaling practice into my workday start up and shut down routines. I simply start my day with a few gratitude-forward questions and then bring them back out to reflect on the day before I close my laptop each evening.
While I write mine out in a notebook, I know some of you prefer a digital tool. So I created a simple Google doc for you to give it a try yourself. I love this formula gives me a framework for my thoughts and template to get ideas flowing. Sometimes a blank piece of paper can be so intimidating, ya know?
Do you journal regularly? I’d love to hear what’s working for you and what you’ve learned. Shoot me a DM on insta and let's keep the conversation going!
