Do you ever have one of those days where you literally don’t know where the day went?
Like wasn’t it just 10am… how is it 5pm? I do this alllllll the time and a few months ago I realized I needed to get control of things.
The thing about working for yourself is that you can do ANYTHING… every day… whenever you want. Ummm amazing, yes. Overwhelming and perhaps unruly at times, oooh yes.
While I’ve always been a person who loves efficiency and making the most of my hours, after having too many days where I couldn’t explain where my hours went, I knew I had to take action.
In Episode 14 of The Artist at Work, we talk about different ways we have set boundaries with others, made time for ourselves within our work weeks and have leaned into our respective work styles.
I’ve learned that having a defined plan, a realistic to-do list and a consistent shut down time makes me feel the most centered. Of course, we all have our own personality types and working styles so something that works for me, might not for you.
