But what’s interesting to uncover is how my relationship with each of these platforms have shifted over the years. I’ve always approached things with a channel-specific intentions, but when Timehop shows me a glance into what I was up to 10 years ago with an obscure Facebook status update and 10 grainy instagram feed pictures from the same day, I can’t help but be a little bit embarrassed.

Overwhelm is a feeling. A feeling comes from a thought. And all thoughts are not true. Everything that passes through your brain is in fact, not a fact. We tell ourselves stories (sometimes for years) and you need to unpack those stories to get down to what is actually truthful.

I’ve started weaving this new journaling practice into my workday start up and shut down routines. I simply start my day with a few gratitude-forward questions and then bring them back out to reflect on the day before I close my laptop each evening. 

In this week’s episode of The Artist at Work, we are talking about 6 ways to get yourself creatively unstuck. These aren’t revolutionary, but they are things we tend to easily forget to implement when we are in a rut or just feeling stuck. So perhaps they’ll serve as a nice reminder to tap into when you need them.
